Two months with no post in the blogger...thats bad. I shouldn't be saying i was occupied when i've got internet at my home and laptop to work on. Lets see whom can i critisize this time. hmmm..who better than the media..ha ha
The indian team recently won the Commonwealth Bank tri -series with a convincing victory of 2 games over none in the best of 3 clashes. The indian team is close to acquiring the status of a formidable team, a real FORMIDABLE TEAM. With times gone by when cricket fanatics would pull their hair over disturbing thoughts of the directions in which the indian cricket would be heading when the seniors were more in the team and the alegations that the seniors are not letting any 'junees' to come inside. With 'T-20' win and the latest one in the kitty, the cricket crazy dudes can stop pulling their hair and if they have lost some in the process, can look up to some hair growing lotions. With the good combination of seniors and juniors, the learning and the execution of processes is just going to be better and good for indian cricket, not to forget the amount of money spent by corporates and movies stars on the glizty, glamorous Indian Premier League (IPL) [ which is an answer to Zee TV's Indian Ccricket League (ICL) initiative]. Nonetheless, its just another business where large investors and FII's pump money and make more and pull out their stocks when they want it to!
Well, i'm deviating again. I was talking of the media. Listen about this. I had just returned home from office on tuesday, the day of the 2nd match of the 3 matches, which india won. Something struck my dull but awake mind to watch the famous of all channels, AAJ TAK (sabse tez) and the 'coming up' bar showed 'maa tujhe salaam' [Mother, I salute you]. I, for some reason, thought something on cricket should be up and coming soon, instead, i couldn't figure out how the title of the forthcoming show could link itself to the above mentioned subject that arose in my mind. Its only when the program began (after switching few channels here and there, i came back to AAJ TAK ), i see the mothers of all the cricketers (of all the young players of the team) sit in front of the camera to answer few questions which these journalists put up. The prologue to the show began with the cricketers running and hugging after the triumphant win. Interestingly, i happened to hear a pronoun from the mouth of one of the journalists when it was the turn to talk about Harbhajan Singh, the off spin bowler in the indian team, who is fondly called 'Bhajji'. The pronoun being' hamara' bhajji, meaning 'our' bhajji. I found it hideously strange. It were the same people who were criticising a hell lot (perhaps until the fire is intensified, till the satisfaction that the fire has actually intensified) of about the team whenever they lost the match and interestingly, there were no pronouns used, ***k the pronouns, its these bunch of retards acting like they know good amount of cricket and license to question the ability of the person and bringing forth solutions which you can only laugh at and throw it back at them. Yes, i do agree that in one of the games india did play badly (when they were all out for 153 against the aussie total of 202) but its only a game man. its not the end of all and now that they have won the series, everyone wants to have a piece of the pie, with these media run by hypocritic people, of the exclusive interviews and one hour, maybe longer, shows with the concluding segments having the clips of the winning moment and song from hindi movies in the background. I remember, the song, ' hum sikander hain' for the U-19 team, who won the U-19 world cup, by beating the south african team at kuala lumpur.
Its funny how people react and if you are a keen observer, like me (ha...at least in these issues if not the others), you can't help stop laughing at the shear immaturity shown by the some 'growing' journalists..
i need to sleep. have some work tmrw.
good night,

Kangaroos make it a Hat-trick!
Hat-trick! thats what they have done. Clinched the world cup for the 3rd consecutive time and made a record, beating the Windies set long back when they won twice consecutively in the year 1975 and 1979. A team certainly destined to take it away the trophy and havn't they done that!
The team from past years have been setting some exceptional benchmarks and it looks like the gap between them and the others is widening. When recalled, during any important match, the team that won the toss and decided to bat first, thinking they could pressurize the aussies, have been bowled out for within 175 odd runs and when aussies have been put to bat first, they have posted a score of over 300 runs. what does it take to beat a team like this?
It looks like an invincible team. A team guided by an energetic captain, a team whose goal remains to 'be winning'. The committment and attitude renderered proves that this team would be be at the top for long and it will take a lot more than 'imagination @ work' to 'get down the kangaroos'.

The match!
Heyiieee!
An update of past three days.
Remember the cricket thing going on in our circle and 5 teams from our unit being in the tournament. (dont remember...check for my previous post) Well! i was into one of the teams.. the name of our team -> Fusion maniacs..he he nice name.
It was saturday and the team turned up at the venue for the first match. The cricket ground was inside a club nearby the place where i stay. The ground was smaller than expected. We were expecting our opponent to be there so that we could start off the match (coz it was time) but the team didn't turn up so ended up winning without any effort. There was another team which was supposed to play instead they too ended up winning the same way as we did. The organizers (that's the HR guys) decided to have a friendly match between the two teams and guess what...WE WON IT! anyway that was a friendly one. Since we 'qualified' for the next round we had to play other qualified teams the following day.
Sunday, 11:00 IST
This time our opponent was ready. If we win this match we move on to the next else out of the tournament. Oh! did i mention that it was a KNOCK OUT tournament. We won this match with still 3 overs to go. Thanks to fantastic batting. The next match was immediate after 45 mins or so. just 45 mins break! and that too have to play under the hot sun...fuuurrr! Anyway the match got underway but this time we lost but by a whisker. The opponent team won the match with 2 more balls to go from the last over.
The play was good and interesting barring the heat of the summer.

Indian Teams' World Cup Debacle!
Debacle! It almost has sparked a crisis back home just letting everyone know the standards of sport prefessionlism shown by boys of the 'richest' cricketing body in the world and who knows perhaps the highest paid cricketers in the world! The amount of hype created and the expectation levels, i think, far exceeded the performance that they have rendered. Remember, a lion is lion only in his Den. Yes, the team did win the series back home before leaving for world cup venue but lets face this. The india team has a poor win percentage abroad. The fact that indian team was ranked 8 before the start of the world cup shows the extent of the vision of becoming the 'top team' in the world materialised.
I'm a cricket fan. yes and would like to see india get into a winning habit. But sometimes being optimistic is different and being realistic is different. The realistic reference is of course the benchmark set by Australia, Sri Lanka, new Zealand etc. Hope and just hope is what i have..

Second post in a day!
Well well well! what am i doing now. Nothing much...was going thro' john grisham's 'innocent man' in the office! Again in this, john has his way of streching things way too much..(he had a similar approach in 'time to kill').i mean you don't have to talk about ron williamsons' baseball career again and again. he's inducted, he's dropped, he's inducted again, again dropped..its certainly not worth the thing. I just wish it could be..of all the things he describes has some connection at the end. Let me go thro' and see what he has to say!
i've been going thro' ayn rands' 'Fountainhead' as well!. A good book i must say (well everybody says that!)as of now.. i'm in chapter 3...hee hee a slow reader i am. I shall put forward my views on this too.
Office is abuzz with the cricket fever here (not the world cup 2007 approaching) but the 5ive teams that are participating from our circle for the company-level cricket match (if i can call that). It should be put as 'inter-circle cricket championship' ..err...should be better i know! Good to see the enthu here. All the best to all the 5ive teams!
chao...happy reading!
