Kangaroos make it a Hat-trick!

Hat-trick! thats what they have done. Clinched the world cup for the 3rd consecutive time and made a record, beating the Windies set long back when they won twice consecutively in the year 1975 and 1979. A team certainly destined to take it away the trophy and havn't they done that!
The team from past years have been setting some exceptional benchmarks and it looks like the gap between them and the others is widening. When recalled, during any important match, the team that won the toss and decided to bat first, thinking they could pressurize the aussies, have been bowled out for within 175 odd runs and when aussies have been put to bat first, they have posted a score of over 300 runs. what does it take to beat a team like this?

It looks like an invincible team. A team guided by an energetic captain, a team whose goal remains to 'be winning'. The committment and attitude renderered proves that this team would be be at the top for long and it will take a lot more than 'imagination @ work' to 'get down the kangaroos'.

Oracle on a shopping spree!

Wow!

After quite a long time oracle CEO, Larry Ellison is back with his shopping bag. This time its 'Hyperion', a leader in performance management softwares. Oracle has been 'shopping' for some time now and past two years it has been shopping heavily, with Peoplesoft @ around USD 10 billion and seibel for around USD 5 billion and many more in its 'oracle bag'. It has spent over USD 20 billion in this craze for acquiring firms and establishing their brand across various software segments. They've got PeopleSoft HR, seibel CRM, i-flex india and many more.

Just wonder would larry ever stop his shopping spree. Maybe yes, when he's got MICROSOFT in his kitty and go on to establish oracle as the No.1 Software company in the world.

Idle in office!

Its was 9:15 and into my office, occupied my workstation. The problem which was lingering for past two days...of what? The server being down, the database down....was hoping would be rectified today so that i could complete my work. Now this is an example of 'hoping against hope'. None in our circle could possibly do anything because its not within their 'circle'. The DBA did sort the matter out yesterday and as a result the server was UP and RUNNING but won't u ask for how long? somewhere for 20 mins. None the less, im a free bird right now with my work 'hung' and i chose to blog (which according to the author of this blog, is a productive work). Im idle now (and god knows for how long) and minutes back i was reading blog posts of an old senior from my college. Had two cups of tea till now (and counting....) and nothing productive to do after this..... :-(

Genie..where the hell are you?

The shooting at NASA and Virginia Tech university

What was running through his mind? The killing at no sane level is justifiable. It's such a terrible crime. He certainly has made the world weep. Schools, colleges, universities are considered to be some of the safest places on earth. The symbols of intellect, places where creativity breeds, where some of the best minds of the world come out to go on and make things, get ideas for better human living. The incident has proved that even these symbols of educational power are no longer safe.

So, what drove him to a point of executing such a horrendous crime? As he answered in his recorded tape prior to shaping his intentions, he could not bear the 'extra' standard of living by some, could not bear people who craved for more materials for their 'already posh lives'. He was described by some as a loner who hardly mingled with people. But such hatred to go on and kill 32 innocent lives... not at all pardonable. Cho's family has issued an apology letter and as stated in that 'he has made the world weep'. certainly he has.

NASA: One of the most powerful organisations on the planet. Organisation pertaining to having the best minds on earth, advanced technologies, where i guess almost everyday innovations are materialised, tested and deployed to understand the universe in itself. Now, in such a place we have a shooting incidence.......what can be said. I guess no place in this world is safe anymore.
